2017 BMW M760: Our View
Lightning-quick without the tradeoffs of an M7, the M760i is the ultimate 7 Series.
The verdict: The BMW M760 is the same great 7 Series we love, now with a lot more heft under the accelerator pedal thanks to a 601-horsepower V-12.
Versus the competition: While the M760 isn’t as well-rounded as other super sedans, it hasn’t sacrificed any comfort or luxuriousness with its infusion of M Performance DNA.
BMW went a little mental with the 2017 7 Series. The new M760i xDrive is a 7 Series with serious guts under the hood, growing four additional cylinders and 156 more horsepower over the BMW 750 (see our review of the 2016). Powering the M760 is a 601-hp, twin-turbocharged V-12 that in our acceleration testing propelled the M760 to sports-car-like speeds.

2018 HONDA ACCORD FIRST LOOK: LOWER, WIDER, SHORTER
The more upscale 2018 Honda Accord enters the world with a new powertrain lineup, which drops the V-6 for new turbocharged four-cylinders, a new hybrid system, and a 10-speed transmission.
The all-new 2018 Accord goes on sale this fall, and the world debut today in Detroit and Los Angeles reveals a stylish and sportier 10th generation of the midsize sedan. Replacing the Accord is a big deal, given its history of being a top-selling midsize sedan—a perpetual second place to the Toyota Camry but often first when it comes to sales to retail customers, not including rental and corporate fleets.

2017 LEXUS GX 460 FIRST TEST
On sale since the 2010 model year, the current-generation Lexus GX 460 is old, but you wouldn’t know it from a look at the controversial spindle grille it’s had since a 2014 model year facelift. As one of the few body-on-frame luxury SUVs left, we drove the GX 460 to see if it’s still worthy of consideration. In addition to driving on pavement, we went off the beaten path to see if the GX 460’s bones give it the same off-road chops as its platform mates, the Toyota 4Runner and the global market Land Cruiser Prado.

2018 FORD MUSTANG OFFERS PONY PACKAGE
The 2018 Ford Mustang doesn’t arrive in dealerships until the fall, but new information is trickling out about the packages it will offer. One confirmed example is the Pony package, which brings back the iconic corral grille.
It’s a subtle update, but one with tradition. The pony-in-corral grille design appeared on the first Mustangs in the mid-1960s, and it has been offered in various forms ever since. It made its most recent appearance on the 2015 Ford Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition model.

2017 AUDI A3 2.0T FWD REVIEW: 7 THINGS TO KNOW
Should electric cars charge through their nose?
The writing is on the wall for corded electric vehicle charging: within the foreseeable future it will be phased out in favor of wireless technology.
With both major carmakers and specialist third parties working on solutions, wireless charging, at least in a domestic setting, should be widespread before 2020, but the form it takes is still being debated.
Wireless, or inductive, charging stations that owners of the Nissan LEAF and Chevrolet Volt can buy today use a floor-mounted pad that transmits charge to a corresponding unit on the underside of the car.
BMW and Daimler, who recently announced a cooperation to develop the technology, appear to have adopted a similar architecture, making it the most popular method of wireless charging so far. Volkswagen are set to offer similar systems by 2017.
Researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Systems and Device Technology (IISB), however, are suggesting that the contactless systems should be sited elsewhere on the car.
The IISB says that nose-mounted coils are significantly smaller as well as being less susceptible to interference. What they lack in subtlety, furthermore, they make up for in cost and efficiency.
